Absolutely. As a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, safety is my highest priority. Ultrasound technology has been used in prenatal care for over forty years with no known harmful effects on mothers or babies. At Mother Goose, we strictly adhere to the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle. This means that while we provide you with breathtaking, unhurried views of your little one, we do so with the same professional standards and safety protocols found in a clinical setting—ensuring your peace of mind is as protected as your baby.

We aim for excellence in every session, but because we are capturing life in real-time, certain variables can affect image clarity. The baby’s orientation, the volume of amniotic fluid, and maternal tissue density all influence the final "picture."

Rest assured, with a background in high-level clinical imaging, I am highly skilled at navigating these factors to find the best possible angles. Should your baby be in a particularly difficult position, we have thoughtful policies in place to discuss your options and next steps to ensure you don't miss out on this experience.

2D is the "classic sketch." It is the traditional black-and-white view that allows us to see through to the heart of the story—viewing internal structures and the baby’s steady rhythm.

3D is the "stunning portrait." This technology adds depth and volume, capturing the beautiful contours of your baby’s face, those tiny button noses, and delicate hands in a still image.

4D is the "living story." This is 3D imaging in motion. It allows you to watch your baby’s personality unfold in real-time—seeing a yawn, a stretch, or a thumb-suck as it happens.

We recommend drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your visit. Good hydration can help support healthy amniotic fluid levels, and more fluid around baby can create a clearer window for those beautiful images.

Please come dressed in something cozy and comfortable that allows easy access to your belly. We want you to feel relaxed, at home, and ready to enjoy every moment with your little one.

Absolutely! Family and friends are always welcome at Mother Goose. We’ve even created a special space right inside the ultrasound room just for little ones, complete with comfortable seating and kid-friendly entertainment. Bring the whole family and let them share in the excitement of meeting baby too!

Babies have a mind of their own, and sometimes they simply aren’t ready for their close-up! Baby’s position, placenta location, gestational age and the amount of fluid surrounding the baby can all affect the images we’re able to capture.

We’ll always take our time and make every effort to encourage baby into a better position to capture the sweetest views possible. If baby remains camera-shy and we’re unable to obtain images during your session, one complimentary return visit may be offered at the sonographer’s discretion.
