26+ weeks: The Illustrated Chapter includes gender determination or confirmation in our longest session, 30 minutes, for $175.

Before 14 weeks: Our early pregnancy ultrasound for 6 to 13 weeks focuses on baby's heartbeat and due date. Gender determination starts at 14 weeks.

Early Gender Ultrasound FAQs

  • The Character Reveal (14+ weeks) includes gender determination. The Narrative (18 to 25 weeks) and The Illustrated Chapter (26+ weeks) include gender determination or confirmation. See all ultrasound packages and prices.

  • Baby's position, placenta location, gestational age and fluid levels all affect the images we can capture. Molly always takes her time and works to encourage baby into a better position. If baby stays camera-shy and we can't obtain images, one complimentary return visit may be offered at the sonographer's discretion.

  • Absolutely. Family and friends are always welcome. Our ultrasound room has a special space for little ones, with comfortable seating and kid-friendly entertainment, so the whole family can share in meeting baby.

  • Drink plenty of water in the days before your visit. Good hydration supports healthy amniotic fluid levels, which helps create clearer images. Wear something cozy that allows easy access to your belly.

  • No. Elective and keepsake sessions are for bonding and celebration. They are not a substitute for medical care and are not intended for diagnostic purposes. Please continue all prenatal care and diagnostic screenings with your medical provider.

  • Gender determination at Mother Goose starts at 14 weeks with The Character Reveal ($125). Sessions before 14 weeks focus on baby's heartbeat and due date.
